Shepherd's Center of St. Andrews
Who We Are
The Shepherd's Center of St. Andrews is a nonprofit learning program for active seniors 50+ and run by seniors. We focus on aging well with enriching opportunities for lifelong learning, volunteer service, healthy living, and community connections–all the things that give life meaning.
Our Mission
Our goal is to help seniors enjoy vibrant and active lives. Programs, both online and onsite, are intended to:

What We Offer
We offer three nine-week sessions: Winter, Spring and Fall. Classes are offered onsite and online for a small registration fee. Sessions are held on Tuesdays from 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM. Occasionally, we offer lunch with speakers or entertainment.
The centerpiece of the program is the “Adventures in Learning” curriculum offering classes on a variety of topics. Knowledgeable volunteers from local colleges and our community lead classes. Lessons are planned for diverse interests:
- Literature
- History
- Politics
- Religion
- Music
- Sports
- Movies
- Current events
- Science
Other activities include:
- Line dancing
- Tai chi
- Creative writing
- Quilting
- Bridge
- Art
- Spanish
Other Services include:
- Service Projects for the local community.
- Day trips by bus to places of interest in the region.
- Services such as flu shots, driver safety instruction, document shredding, and tax assistance.
- Special event celebrations
