Families Helping Families

We participate in Families Helping Families, by adopting families/elderly & handicapped persons at Christmas AND volunteering at the collection and distribution site.

Family Promise

We support Family Promise of the Midlands financially in addition to mentoring the families three or four weeks of the year. During the summer, Ashland members assist Family Promise youth attending camp at Camp Cole with both hands-on and financial support.

At Christmas, Ashland members choose an angel ornament from the Giving Garland and purchase gift cards for families being assisted. Monetary gifts are also given at Christmas.

Fleece Blankets

5th & 6th graders assemble fleece blankets for needy children.

Homeworks

Our youth participate in Homeworks projects throughout the year, repairing homes for those in need.

Killingsworth Home for Women

Killingsworth is a unique community residence for women who are emerging from crisis situations.

In the eight bedroom home, women recovering from alcohol and/or drug abuse, incarceration, mental and emotional problems, violence and assault, or family crisis situations can find shelter and support. The residential program includes room, board, guidance and support.

Oliver Gospel Mission

Oliver Gospel Missiion is a community based mission that helps those experiencing homelessness, poverty, or addiction transform their lives through physical, spiritual, and relational support so that they can lead full, healthy lives.

Salkehatchie Summer Service

For over 15 years Ashland has been the host site for the Columbia Salkehatchie Camp. As many as seventy teens and adults spend a week at Ashland each July to repair houses for families in need. Ashland youth and adults also go to other Salkehatchie Camps throughout the state.

Salkehatchie Summer Service is an initiative coordinated through the S.C. Annual Conference.

Transportation

Ashland provides bus tickets to assist the needy in responding to other programs.
